Don't know about the oil, but Toyo Roki makes the filters for Honda. Maybe Amsoil Bob knows and will share with us.

This was the only reference I could find as of May 2010..

Honda GN4 oil is made by Pro Honda Oils and Chemicals, a division of American Honda Motor Co. Inc. Pro Honda specializes in oils and other machinery lubricants for motorcycles, ATVs and the like.

I'm guessing it's a by-product of " Marvel Mystery Oil " on account of the mystery that surrounds it.

I find it hard to believe honda would make their own oil. someone may blend to their own spec. just so they can calll it theirs. Im sure they other thing to do than refine and blend oils. It would go to the lowest QUALLIFIED bid. My thoughts.
