Hi everyone , need a bit of advise :
I'vegot an Imported GL1200 American 85'Aspencade
with a nasty seized engine . ..
I bought a replacement (american made) 85. block but was just starting to strip
to take apart to clean and respray and I noticed there was no secondary air lines on the bottom of the carb

Does anyone know what variant this may be... does it Matter?

Same as the rest, but someone deleted the sas system. It's a band-aid fix vs actually replacing the little valve (valve is part of the Randakk kit).

The 1984s were different than the other years of 1200s. It looks as though you have an '84 engine.

Ok that is weird. MY '84 has the system.

Bottom line though, is that you don't need it.

Thanks everyone for your reponses...
I checked engine & Frame numbers on the engine indicated (the replacement) is an 87 aspencade, vendor confirmed
and my 85 aspencade it the one with the secondary ...

like you say it doesn't matter just have to keep the matching carbs with the block - fortunately the vendor gave me them
I think there was a different model for California on the GL1200 generally due to tougher emission regs

Cheers everyone..i go spray it up now!!
