Does any one know what the actual HP is on a new wing? I have looked all over the internet and can not find the HP rating. The guy at the dealership that sold me the bike said it had 145 HP. I don't think he knew what he was talking about. He also said it was a 6 speed. Another saleman there that rides a wing said he thinks it's about 120 HP. I would just like to know what it really is. It's does have a lot of power for such a heavy machine.

I saw one article that said the drive train is unchanged since 2009. It showed 92 hp on a Dyno (which is always lower than the factory rated hp of the engine.

for the 2010 model, Motorcyclist.com indicates 118 hp for the engine and 125 ft lbs of torque (forgot at what RPM). Just Google search Honda Goldwing horse power and you can check it out for your self.

Factory ratings for 2001-12 all seem to be the same.. 118 hp/125 ft lbs torque.

Thanks for the info. 96 on the dyno, well if that's true than the 78 HP Harley had would have dynode at about 50HP. LOL

The reason Honda doesn't list hp in the specs is there is no standardization for the ratings. Some will advertise numbers taken at the crank (or at the output shaft) and use a reduction % for transfer to the wheel which leaves plenty of room for error (dreams). Shaft drives eat roughly 10% of the engine's hp, chains and belts somewhat less. The only way to know for sure is to put your bike on a dyno and have it checked.

Pretty sure that's 'engine' hp joe. Hyperbikes like the 'Busa have that kind of rear wheel numbers. Even so, it's over 40 more than the GW. Makes it much quicker in a straight line, but has very little advantage in corners since the GTL doesn't have much more cornering clearnace and that's what counts; makes no difference if you've got double the hp if you keep dragging the hard parts at the same lean angle.

I just got the title for my 1986 GL1200 Aspencade this morning and got a chuckle when I read what they had listed for horse power. ....99.9 HP. :)
I have a funny idea that a few of those horses no longer reside in the same pasture.

I think 118hp at the crank on an 1832 is correct. I wanted to do a dyno on my Wing at a commercial dyno outfit (the kind that travels from venue to venue). They weren't in the mood to set mine up and one of them whispered 104. Ive heard 104 hp a couple other times and have come to accept it.
