I'm new and haven't kept up with model availability. what year was the last year of production of the 1800? I had a 2002 vtx 1800c and loved that bike.

Not big on VTX history but I believe it was either 2007 or 2008

I think it was a couple of years ago. My guess is 08 or 09. Interesting bike. It had the engine UMPH but the frame didn't match the power. I had the 06 1300 VTX.

As usual, I'm behind the times with a response, but 2008 was the last year of production for the VTX1800. The 1300 models (Fury and Stateline) still exist, but have been renamed as simply "VT" model designations VT1300CRAE (Stateline) and VT1300CXAE (Fury) 2014 MY.

When I was looking for an "X" I talked to a service manager from a dealer that I have known for about 5 years, great guy and knows a lot. He said that I should look at the 1300 and stay away from the 1800, he said the 1300 was a better bike. So Honda discontinued the 1800 and the 1300 is still being made. I guess he knew something.
The 1300 had a bigger tank than the 1800 also, not much bigger but on that small of a tank every little bit helps.
And my 04 1300 S is about as comfortable as any other bike I have owned, including and of the 6 Gold Wings I have owned.
