After my little jaunt into Canada from the PA Meet n Greet it sure got my fever up to make another trip up there. I have learned a lesson from trying to make a trip to Alaska this year that a long trip plan is very difficult to pull off when you still have to work and have kids that get sick and use up your time off. Anyway with that in mind I thought this shorter route but still Epic journey may be more feasible given my constraints, If I start off 6/29 with a plan to be home on 7/14 that gives me 16 days of travel and a day to rest before going back to work and only uses 72 hours of vacation time. That leaves me 104 hours to use the rest of the year, so I should be able to make that work?

Just in the brain storming phase now but was checking to see if anyone would be interested in riding along?

16 days is plenty to do the Trans-Labrador-highway. I just did it this July. Spent 1 night in NH visiting a relative, 1 night in St Johns NB, three nights in Nova Scotia, one night on the Ferry between NS and ND, three nights in Newfounfland, two nights in Labrador, and one night in NY and the home. A total of over 6000 miles. If you do it, when you take the ferry between Newfoundland and Nova Scotia spend the extra $20.00 and get a reserved seat. That way you maybe able to get some sleep. Depending on where you take the ferry between NS and ND the ride is either 7.5 hrs or 17.5 hrs.

If you do the trip you will need a spare gas tank one section of the highway , LOL , it is about 265 miles between gas stops. You are welcome to borrow my spare gas tank.

I also have some videos from my trip of the highway. just relies you will do a total of just over 400 miles of dirt roads. Some not in very good shape.

If you want any more info I will be happy to provide what I can.

I may have to call you one day and pick your brain. I can get 280 miles to a tank purdy easy if I am going 65MPH or under, was getting 48MPG on the CAT ride in Coudersport, the connie has a 7.4 gallon tank. My plan is to go counter clockwise and prolly take the 17.5 hour ferry so I can hit St. Johns and get the furthers point east you can get.

Just remember the TLH is not a highway as you know it. Of 265 miles between gas stops 205 of it is dirt road. You probably wont average 40
mph on that section even with the connie. But with 7.4gal. and at least 40 mpg you should make it.

here is a link to the TLH site

Wanna Go?

Well, duh, of course.

Can I go?

Different question, and probably not, but I'll study on it. The timing might fit the work schedule. Have to see what happens in the next six months.
