Sorry that is the extent of my knowledge on this. I have done this one time when I reversed the front and rear reading because I run a car tire on the rear. If you are a member on the other board ask there as there is some smart fellows over there that will be more than willing to help you figure this out.

Thanks, I'm trying every resource I can to find out whether the front sensor is truly bad or there's some secret handshake I don't know about in the reset/registration process.

I just don't believe in coincidence, but absent another explanation, I may just be buying a new TPMS sensor for the front.
