Hi Guys,
I know I have not been an active participant here on the forum lately, but I would like to share my recent trip. The weather was flawless until the last leg of the return trip which is a huge bonus!!We left from Northern Vermont early on Friday July 1st. We stopped at approx 450 miles south in Wilmington Delaware. Nothing to see there except a armed security guard to greet us at the Hotel!! LMAO!!!!Lets just say not a great place to hang out too long!!! The next day we made our trek south and hit major holiday traffic, In hind site I would have left at midnight to avoid that mess! This leg was approx. 500 miles. In White Oak there had been some wild fires the previous days and rode through the eeriest sight of evacuated homes and a low hanging smokey fog every where. We landed in Elizabethtown NC to find out they had canceled our reservations. Now most people that know me would say I used good restraint by not squeezing the mans neck till his eyeballs popped out!! I was a good boy and did not get the free bed Johnny Law would have given me !!!! LMAO!!I do want to say that all the people we met on the trip were so nice and helpful, there is alot of truth to the statement of SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY. We met up Tim (Love to Ride) as well as his wife Karen. We stopped and had a great lunch and then rode to White Lake and spent some time on the beach and in the bath water. I wish could have had more time together they are a great couple. We met up the next day for breakfast in Lumberton and then parted ways. The roads in NC and SC are impeccable, the roads this year in VT are scary at best. We left E-town on Tuesday for Kure Beach!! What an awesome ride and an awesome place to go.The beaches ,the aquarium , and Fort Fischer were all great stops along the rides we took. On our last day there we went across the bay on the Ferry to Southport and then on to Myrtle Beach. What can I say it is one of the most beautiful Boardwalks I have ever seen! We did not want to leave!!! The day we left the weather turned to rain and then by the time we hit Northern Virginia, I was running on 3 cylinders and it was coming down in sheets in Bumper to bumper traffic, stopped and waited out the heavy stuff and Landed at Lee (AKA CHOPIN) and Mz Vickies House. Another great couple who opened there home to us for the night and watered and fed us!!By the way Chopin did My laundry!! Thank you so much!!!HEHEHE!!!! The next morning Chopin helped me with an oil change hoping it would cure my clutch slipping problem which had started 1/2 way to his house. It did not work but we tried. Chopin escorted me 180 miles to Lewisberg PA. and we met up with my MC club The V-Twin Cruisers who were celebrating the annual Shamokin Rendevous. Chopin hung with us for a while and headed back. I am so grateful to have met some real true friends here on this forum who went above and beyond for Erika and I to make sure we made it back home safe. I want to mention that Bill (AKA Fossil) and i were supposed to meet but schedules made it impossible.I am sorry we could not meet!! Fossil offered to trailer my Bike home if need be and for that I am so Grateful he is my friend and am floored that he would offer!! On Sunday morning I bleed the clutch master cylinder but to no avail. The ride home was escorted by the Vermont Chapter of the V- Twin Cruisers who also had a plan for a trailer to come out and get me back had the clutch gone completely. We made it home safe and the Hondapotamis is in for surgery now at the shop. I will say that the bike performed almost flawlessly and for its age proved to be very worthy as a touring Bike!! I want to thank you all who were in contact with me along my trip, and GWOF for being the site that brought me such kind and considerate friends who I will always cherish and be proud to call MY Friends!!!! By the way here are some pics!!!!!

Now that looked like a great trip/great pics. It's a shame that it had to end the way it did but, looks like you had good company along the way & we'll hookup sometime for sure you can count on it.

I know I probably speak for all of us when I say we're glad you made it back to Vermont.
