I just replaced my timing belts '95 Aspy 30K. I'm worried that I may have adjusted them with two much slack. I know that to tight is definitely a no no. Factory 0.2" to 0.3", Rudy's procedure linked on this site 0.5". I think one belt may be a little over 0.5" What concerns me is that I started the engine before putting cover back on and I could see the belts oscillate up and down some. I sometime I worry to much, but as I told a friend who said I worry too much: "Yes and that's why I'm still alive!"
Any comments welcome. Thanks, Carl

Let's call it concern Carl, and there's nothing wrong with having it. At different RPM's it is normal for the belts to do this, slightly of course. Did you happen to run the engine speed up and down a bit while watching? if you had you would see the belts go in and out of the oscillating that you saw. if you tensioned them properly and there is no noise from them, then i would say you are good to go.Ride often and Safe.
