Anyone see à problem with rewiring the start button to trigger an spdt relay instead of performing the function inside the corroded start button?

Anyone see à problem with rewiring the start button to trigger an spdt relay instead of performing the function inside the corroded start button?

There are a few 4 cylinder wings running around up here with push button starter switches mounted to the fairings. They work fine. And still shut off with the key.
