In southwest Washington there is a road, or was, that go's from Hwy 706 to Hwy 12. I rode it probably ten years ago. I remember seeing the west entrance of Mt.Rainier Nat'l Park from where we turned south on this side road. It followed a river for part or all of it and exited just east of Packwood. :confused:Just wondered what the name was. Since I'll be up there to ride around the area for a weekend soon. Maybe the last weekend of June.:D

Been there, but forget the name. I'll go back through the archives if I get a chance and see if anything jogs.

I love a map challenge.
There is a road that goes south from 706 to US 12, 2 to 3 miles west of the Nisqually (west) entrance to Mount Rainier. On Google map it is National Forest Road 52 or Skate Creek Road. It does indeed follow a river for a good bit and comes out right at Packwood. The map says it is closed in the winter. Maybe it will open this year the way y’alls weather is going….
