My riding bud Tom and i did a daytrip ride to Skyline drive last wk, clicky here for pics:
https://picasaweb.google.com/goddard221/SkylineDriveVA042911#

Destination: Skyline Drive VA (Day trip)
Meeting place: Wawa Gas Sta at Rutgers ave/Rt 100 Exton PA
Departure time: 5:05am
Arrival time at Skyline drive: 9:35am
Lunch at Skyland Lodge/Restaurant: Tom said "Great BBQ pulled pork sandwich & cold beer"
Skyline departure time: 1pm
Arrival time at home: 7pm
Total GPS miles: 626
Total time: 14hrs
GPS Highest elevation: 3,747 i forgot which Skyline drive milepost?
The ride was uneventful. No one crashed, no deer strike, no dropped bike, no dropped helmet, no
performance award. Lesson learned - from I 81 never take Rt 30 east from Chambersburg to Lancaster on friday
rush hr...horrendous traffic jam, lots of confusing circles like NJ...

Looking at your time line and mileage I would say you two were moving. I biked up to Lancaster last Sunday. No traffic jams, but a good bit of wet weather for the ride home. I thought your pictures look familiar, especially the gas stop at Luray.

Good pictures. I first did Skyline and the BRP back in 78 on my 76 Superglide. I was young and vibrations didn't matter. I'm old now so I'll be doing it on my new Wing next week. I reconize the fuel stop in Luray. I camped in Luray a couple of years ago and did the caverns. A must see like the BRP.
