I don't know how many places I've posted this, but it can't be advertised enough!

ATTENTION ALL WINGERS!

**Saturday Sept. 11, 2010 in Southern California is the "Ride to the Flags! http://www.ridetotheflags.com/ A big charity ride sponsored by the Gary Sinese Foundation!

*From the website...
Just announced: Musical Guest
Glen Campbell!
It is our desire to encompass everything that 9/11 should commemorate while paying proper tribute to those who lost their lives on that tragic day and fighting for our country since. Putting the ride in perspective with the occasion, our celebration of freedom will be present at our staging area - Naval Base Ventura County - Pt. Mugu Naval Air Station. The staging area will serve as the bulk of our celebration event. The riders will then partake on a 2-hour ride through the most beautiful scenery in Southern California. While most motorcycle rides start small and end large the RTTF will instead end in solemn respect at 2,977 full sized flags standing high atop 10-foot poles facing the Pacific Ocean - one for every innocent life taken on 9/11. Taking a knee in prayer, we’ll pay our respects silently before departing.

There will be no minimum charge to ride in the ride. We only ask that you give what you can. We trust that you will give graciously.

Every dime that you can give to this ride as a rider will be given straight to Snowball Express, Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, and The Stephen Siller FDNY Children’s Foundation via the Gary Sinise Charitable Foundation.

Hope to see many of you there! Look for Used2gofast!

Tomorrow is our ride to the Pentagon. The weather looks so-so. The agreement we have here amongst the local riders is: We can get " caught " in the rain but we don't " leave " in the rain: http://weather.yahoo.com/united-states/virginia/centreville-12765927/
That is a great agreement! Too many fair weather riders out there! lol... JK The weather here yesterday was a low marine layer in the early a.m., but it burnt off by noon and the ride was scheduled for 1pm; but like any big production, was about 30 minutes late. The view at Pepperdine in Malibu was to die for! Temp was about a cool 70-75. I'll post some pix soon. ;)

The weather today kept the attendance down to at least half what it was last year. We now know who the Fair Weather Patriots are. We grouped at the Air and Space Museum at Dulles Airport and after a brief ceremony the gang headed to the Pentagon. Police escort and road blocks were at a minimum for the first time in the four consecutive years I have been attending. At one point during the route local traffic was going about their merry way and cutting the line off in segments. Come to find out that rather than one long line we were sent in smaller groups, lead by a Patriot Captain rider. No biggie, Mz. Vickie has never been to the Pentagon Memorial and after that she and I went to Arlington National Cemetery . The weather stayed agreeable throughout the remainder of the day and we came home under sunny skies.

Thanks for the pictures and both your efforts to show support. Wish we had something like that down this way.
