This is going to be a place to post maps of our Favorite Rides within our regions, complete with maps, descriptions, photos & videos.

Here is a quick tutorial based on the use of Google Maps. For those that have another way to do their posting by all means, Go for it.

Posting map

Go to Google. Open Google maps, click Get Directions. Start by putting (Starting address in box A). Pick a point along your route to place Box B (The reason I do this is because if you just go from start to finish address Google will choose your route for you.) Once you do that Click on small lettering Add Destination under box B. That will open Box C left click on a point along your route to place your cursor then immediately right click this will open another window, the 3rd tab down says Add A Destination click that & you will complete that leg. Continue with Add Destination under Box C to open D, left click to set cursor, right click 3rd down Add Destination. Etc etc etc until you complete your route. Don’t get frustrated sometimes the maps will do their own thing & mess up. If it does just hit the back button on the browser & it will undo the last destination.

Once you get your route map completed on the top right corner of Google map below the words Sign In page you will see 3 tabs Printer, Mail & Link. Click on the link & it will open a window you will see in the 1st box below Short URL your map Url link. Right click copy & paste that into your GWOF message. This should work fine. If you have any issue let me know.

This is my favorite local route. A fall ride through Little River Canyon is absolutely beautiful.
This loop covers both of the best riding areas in North Alabama. LRC and Lake Guntersville State Park.

Here is a Twisty Route that runs down in Pete's (2003 GL 1800 Police) neck of the woods in Leeds, Al. I almost bit the dust on these twisters. Lets say I wasn't ready yet....Lucky to survive I want to do it all over again.

Natchez Trace North

Natchez Trace North...This is an all day route but a great ride for any level. Great roads and sweeping gentle curves. The most beautiful country side, just watch out for the Deer. Start out early and plan on eating lunch at the legendary Loveless Cafe. Its worth the wait.http://g.co/maps/fjjnu

Wilderness Parkway

This is a basic ride for all levels. The route runs through Wilderness Parkway in Moulton, Al, which is fun ride through Bankhead National Forest. You then loop around and have lunch at All-Steak Restaurant. http://theallsteakrestaurant.com/
You will love the Orange Rolls.

Might be a good sticky. NOTE BRING SOME CASH. Not all stations take plastic (ask me how I know).

Hey guys. Been in here a couple of weeks and just ran across this stickie. Good job. I have to ride a piece before I get to some of these but maybe I'll find an interesting route on the way. Thanks again. Ken

That's in my neck of the woods too. I love that ride, there used to be a motorcycle stop at the top of dunnavant mountain called 29dreams, I used to ride up there all the time. It's a rode that you shouldn't ride fast if you've never been down it. I've lost several friends to theses curves. It's still fun though.

The place called 29 dreams is now firenze25 and they have a facebook page.
Is it still all gravel? I didn't like going because of all the gravel. The wing didn't care for it much. Lol
