Hello everyone I have a 2013 gl1800 and I need to know what kind of grease to use when cleaning and repairing the reverse switch any help would be great thank you

Never use WD-40 to try to clean a switch. It is not a cleaner. Use an electrical contact cleaner and there are plenty of them on the market. CRC is usually the go to for most people. Those switches have a lot of small parts in them so if you’re going to take the whole thing apart and clean, it be very careful not to lose anything.
