We're having some voltage issues with the bike and are trying to find the regulator rectifier. Honda says it's mounted on the frame but the wire off the alternator go directly to the battery. If you look through the case, it looks like the regulator is in the alternator case. It's a hitachi LR140708.

Any help would be very appreciated! We were hoping to take the bike out this weekend for a good long ride but ended up getting stranded on Monday (luckily locally!).

Thanks in advance!

Most 1500's that have charging problems, the problem usually ends up being the alternator brushes. They get dirty and stick and won't ride against the armature. You can change them yourself but they are soldered in place, so you need a soldiering gun to do the job.

Thanks so much! And we do have a soldering gun (several in fact, hubs is always wiring something).

We took the alternator to a shop here locally and they fixed everything. Thank God! Didn't want to have to spend over $300 to buy a new one! The regulator and rectifier are both inside the alternator and the guy at the shop hooked us up!
