It appears from the manual that 2015 - 2017 wing have some electrical differences from the 2012-2014 so this question is for the 2015 and up owners.

Trying to install LED turn signals in the rear of my 2017 gl1800 in place of the oem bulbs but have a stranger issue. When I turn on the blinkers and then off one of the rear turn signals stays on dimly. If I use the left blinker the left rear will stay on dimly, if I then turn the right side on when it goes off the right rear will be dimly light. If I the turn the ign to ACC and turn on the hazard lights and then turn then off the the rear blinker that was last used will
be dimly lit. I measured the voltage and when the lift stays on it is at 4.5v and the right is at 0v. When the right stay on it has 2.5v on it and the left has 0v. I have connected a gnd wire directly to the gnd side and the frame without any change. Also measured the gnd side of each socket and it seems good.

The oem bulbs work just fine.

Has anyone installed LED turn signals had this problem or does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be the issue.

I'm no expert on LEDs but without the proper capacitors/resistors there can be voltage issues and that's what it sounds like to me. Hopefully some of our LED conversion gurus can chime in and help.

If you are talking about the hyper flash that has been taken care of.

Have you measured the voltage at the light connectors? I have no idea how sensitive your LEDs are to very low voltages but you might want to check that out so you can rule out any inductive coupling from adjacent wires in the loom. Like Daryl said, a resistor might be needed.

My gut says that this is a grounding issue. Whenever I get weird electrical stuff happening, that is usually the cause but LEDs are special.

I have heard that switching the bulbs around in the socket helps with other issues might be worth a try.

Tried that nogo.

These same LEDs worked great in my 2006 as well as two other bikes. The voltages stated in my first post were measured at the
tail light harness connector with the bulb plugged into it bypassing the bulb adapter.

The ground issue was my thought too. That is why I connected a good ground to each bulb. My technical background tells me it
is a bad component in the signalling circuit.

Although the resistor solution may solve the problem my OCD wont allow me to do that.

This may just have to be added to my winter project list.
