Does the driveshaft require any maintenance other than changing the gear oil? No grease fittings or anything? I've never looked at it and figured it was easier to ask than to dig the manual out

Drive Shaft -

Hey Calcliff, Over all I think most owners will agree that the drive line of the Goldwing is pretty bulletproof. Just keep an eye on the differential seal for any leakage and deterioration of the rubber boot at the engine side of the drive shaft. The only thing that might be mentioned other than changing the differential oil is to remove the drive shaft at each tire change to grease the splines up inside the universal joint.

While you have things all apart, you should also check the universal joint for a smooth movement in all directions and the splines for any indication of wear.

Good Luck, Michael :)
