Rear brakes are making noise, not metal to metal but definitely not normal. Since I bought the bike used about 3000 miles ago, 63,000 miles on bike, I am thinking I probably should replace rotor and pads.
I would welcome suggestions on brand and pad type. Thanks

I would not think it's the rotor with only 63000 miles on it. Does it make noise every time the brake is applied. Mine used to make a noise in a low speed turn while dragging the brake,. Turned out to tbe the rear wheel bearing.

Yes, Everytime I apply rear brakes. I guess I need to get a look at it before ordering the parts since the rotor is not cheap.

With the bike on the center stand, get hold of the bottom of the tire/wheel and try to move it side to side. If it move or there is a clunking sound, it's a good bet it's the bearing.
It just might be the pad.

MTC, always look before you leap! Check as much as you can before jumping into the deep end, it could save lots of time and $$!
