I have owned 6 Gold Wings
1982 GL 1100
1985 GL 1200
1992 GL 1500
1998 GL 1500 SE
2002 GL 1800
2008 GL 1800
Probably my favorite was my 92, I think is that is because I did the most travling on that one, I had 108,000 miles on it when I bought my 98. but for performance and looks I think I liked my 02 best.

Howdy
I have had only two wings, but I have to say that my 08 is far and away better than my 86 1200a in handling, power,(of course), and
creature comforts, also, I love the ABS on the 1800. We put 110,000
miles on that 86, and at the time, I thought that it was the best touring bike ever, till I got the 08, NO COMPARISON!
Thats my 2 cents.
But I also have to say that the 86 was far, far, better than the other 19 bikes I had before that!

detdrbuzzard; I'm on my third Wing. First was a 1986 1200 and after riding many other brands sold me on Wings. The next, a 1990 1500se, was definetly a much better machine than the 1200. Now I have a 2008 1800 Comfort/Navi and have only 2500 or so miles on it. (Bought as a left-over in Aug 2009) So far the 1800 seems to be a much better bike as fae as handling goes but there is still a soft spot in my heart for my 1500.

Never had 2 at once for any length of time, but I have had a 75 1000,83I,84I,85Aspy and an 891500.They all had their good points and loved them all at the time.I can't seem to get comfortable on the 1800.For now I'm very happy with the 1500 for the type of riding the wife and I do.We are on it every chance we get as well as on our holidays.Like I said I liked them all,but that 6 cylinder is just too smooth.
