Hi all,

I'm having trouble with my GL1100 and I'm due to travel to Scotland on it in a few days time!

The bike's an Interstate (1982), brought over from the States (if that's relevant). Pretty sure it's an electrical fault. She runs beautifully until she gets hot and then fails.

Symptoms: The hotter it gets the greater the gap becomes between 'no throttle' and 'a little throttle' This gap becomes progressively worse until it eventually loses almost all power and limps home on 2 cylinders.

It's had a new Ignition Coil (tried in both positions), new leads, new plugs (feeler gauged) and new resistor caps.

All to no avail. Please help, I'm due to leave on the 22nd!!!

Cheers Neil

are you sure its an electrical issue and not a fuel issue like a fuel filter going bad
