Hey Guys, So I just bought a MINT condition 1980 Gl1100 and riding it home 60 miles gave me a grin from ear to ear......

I have other bikes, custom chopper, zx 14 etc... BUT there is something VERY special about this bike.

My Father had one in 1977 and I remebered it always...
( I am 40 now ) and always wanted one... its black with blue pinstripe.

So the details are one owner, paint, decals etc are MINT not a scratch or spot of rust anywhere...
indoor garage kept and 75,000 KM ( Canada )

I will be doing the Timing Belt, flush rad, oil etc...

Is there anything else anyone reccomend I check out ?

Thanks in Advance

Check the tires, even if they look good check the manufacturers date on the side of the tire, and enjoy your new ride

Sounds like you got a real keeper there G. Maybe have a good boo at your rubber and plastic hses and such. Time can be a real enemy on that stuff. Again congrats.

Budoka is right.

If it's rubber or liquid, probably a good thing to change out.

Congrats on the new prize and welcome to GWOF.

thanks Lads, will be doing evrything this week... timing belt first !

The fairing edges ets are in amazing shape, all the chrome looks new, I cant find a scratch or blemish on her.. even the guages/windscreen are crystal clear.

Felt like I could have slept on it last night !

here are a few pics of the other bikes I have....posted them in the meet and greet, but here seems more appropriate
