i had my oil changed this week and noticed 5w40 oil was used.i looked in my owners manual and noticed 10w40 was the reccomened weight.anyone have any opinion as to whether this could cause any problems.
Where are you located?? If you are in a colder area of the country it should not be a problem. Just make sure it is not marked "energy conserving" because that has additives that can cause clutch slipping..
Oil is always a personal choice and a bit of a contentious issue. One thing remains constant, WE are responsible as to what goes into our bikes, not the shop. We, the owners have a responsibility to KNOW what is favourable and what isn't. It's fair to ask for advice, but need to be able to make informed decisions.
