Hi all,
1st post here and full of questions, but I will keep it short(for now).

Looking for a vintage GW. Found a 78 with 50,000 miles. Extra clean
and pampered by the PO. Asking $1650 CDN and I have him down to $1500 CDN. This is a naked version, needs a front tire and that appears to be it. Sound like a fair price?

As well are there any obvious quirks to be looking for?

Appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
Rick

Welcome to the forum from Pennsylvania. Lots of folks on here with older Wings that I'm sure can give you good advice. Basic stuff would be how well the bike was maintained. Have fluids (oil, coolant, brake, clutch, etc) been changed at proper intervals. If your are changing front tire, you should probably do the back as well. Most tires have a useful life of 8 years regardless of miles. Stator can be an issue on older bikes so find out if it was replaced recently. Good luck and ride safe..

Find out from the PO if He did the timing belts and when.A lot of the Wing guy's go by 8 years or 80K whatever comes first.Check under the left front corner of the engine, there is a small hole there. If there is oil or anti-freeze leaking then you have water pump problems.Good luck..

15 minutes south of Edmonton in Leduc.

Local Napa dealer bringing in 2 timing belts @ $38.00 per
a little stiff but worth the preventative mtc.
