New to riding, looking for my second bike and considering an ST1300 - seeking advice

i have both, an ST 1100 and the Mighty ST 1300. weight wise they are close. the 1100 seems longer and not as sporty with less power too. the seat on the Mighty ST 1300 has three settings so i had to try all the combos to find on that worked for me, at six feet tall i had no problem flat footing the bike but the adjustment adds a little comfort. i thought about an NT 700 as a second ( ? ) bike but the lack of HP and range was a turn off plus the fact that as you go up in rpm your mileage is going down fast with that small motor working that hard, i sometimes ride with a guy that has one and he rarely rides faster than 70mph for that reason, when he had his C10 concourse he rode 75 - 85mph. i didn't plan on getting my ST 1100 i kind of got stuck with it. after a few good rides i found that i could live with the power it has and went about making it a bike i would really want to ride rather than having to go home and get its big brother for serious road duties. the PO ( second owner ) didn't take very good care of it and it was worse than i thought so i did brakes front and rear, new sparkplugs, and did an oil change but it still needed more. i had new fork seals and progressive springs installed, seals were leaking. i had a new rear shock installed, the old one was wore out. the original owner of the ST 1100 had a love affair with chrome and had the wheels chromed but age caught up with them and as the chrome flaked off of the aluminum rim it caused each rim to crack so they had to be replaced because they wouldn't hold air. i added handlebar risers and driving lights. i picked up a used Russel day long seat because even after having the stock seat stuffed for more comfort it wasn't as supportive along the sides and too narrow on my bum. most of the work that been done to it has been done by a friend at his shop and the bike is still there so i haven't had a chance to ride it since before covid but i am looking forward to riding it to Marietta, OH. and to Indy some time this year, i picked up a trunk so this can be more of my touring bike when i need or want a trunk. here is a pic of both my ST's before the trunk and driving lights were installed on the 1100

my ST 1300 had a very comfortable Sargent seat, MCL highway blades ( pegs ), and Gen-mar bar risers for added comfort. MCL stuff is not around anymore but PSR has highway blades and a few other things for an ST 1300. i can't say how comfortable the stock seat is because i never had it on the bike even though it was given to me when i bought it. if you want something slightly sporty but will still munch miles get the ST, i made the switch from my '93 1500se to my '06 ST 1300 back in '15 and while i still have my Wing it is not my first choice though i still consider it a great bike. two reasons i went with the Mighty ST 1300 over upgrading to an 1800 Wing
less weight than a 1500 or an 1800 wing
that 7.7 gallon gas tank

you might want to look at a suzuki vstrom 650. though its chain driven there way more farkles for it than a NT700 plus it has a bit more power, i'm thinking of selling my BMW R1200 GSA for one

don't be fooled while bigger bikes go faster you are in control of the throttle so 45-55 on the Mighty ST 1300 is no harder than going those speeds on any other bike. if you read my last ride report the only time i got on the expressway was to get a pic at the welcome center the rest of the ride was on roads with speed of 30 -, 60 mph
