When I bought my 1994 Goldwing GL1500 Trike a few weeks ago it came with some Green square yellow running lights on it. The problem is the paint that matchs the bike was peeling off and was the only bad paint on the bike other then a few nicks here and there. So I bought a new set of Cobra chrome bullet style running lights and installed them. I think they look a whole bunch better and will provide much better lighting. My question is when I installed them the one side had a ground and hot wire and once installed it worked fine. The other side only had a hot wire so that light won't light up. So if I splice into the ground wire that works on the other side and ground the not working light with the spliced wire that should work right and not hurt anything?

You should be able to do just that & have no issues. I would bet that the grounded would have been through the light bar itself which is why the other light didn't have ground.
