Hi there,
I've never owned a wing before, but I always wanted a classic wing.

I may have the opportunity to purchase a 78 goldwing that has 36k miles on it.
The bike is in good shape and looks stock.

I am wondering how much this bike is worth.
Does the 78 goldwings have collectors value?

Thanks and I am glad to be on this forum, even though I will only be here for one day!

... HOWDY ... KELLY BLUE BOOK RETAIL IS $1640 ... AND A FRIEND JUST SOLD HIS 78WITH 38k. FOR $1800. ... HOPE THAT HELPS ... MY FIRST WING WAS A 78 NEW ... HAPPY TRAILS ...
First off, The 78 was a smooth ride. A friend had one back when it was new. As far as what it is worth, what is it worth to you? Parts may be a bit harder to find and the years not miles are the determining factor. Has it aged well? Might start at the blue book listing then adjust for things like cracked or deteriated rubber, seat ect. Bottom line, any deal where both folks are happy is a good deal.
... Howdy ... If You Are Buying This Bike For An Investment Or To Turn A Buck I Don't Think That Will Happen ... I Have A 85 Ltd And I Will Make About $1000. When I Sell It ... I Was Able To Buy The Bike At A Reduced Price Because It Needed Some Work ... So By The Time It Get Finished With The Minor Repairs I'll Come Out Ahead ... Happy Trails ...
P.S. I THINK HE IS HIGH ON THE PRICE ...
i agree with ronzilla on this don't buy it to resale and makemoney buy it because you want to ride it. i got my 1200 aspencade two years ago for $2500 and now with new tires , timing belts, grips, extra lights, and chrome if i got $3000 i would be doing good
Gotta go with the last couple of posts - if you want an investment look at energy stocks. If you take care of it you'll get pretty close to your purchase price back, but if you get to ride it for a year or two and it only costs you a couple hundred bucks, you made a good deal. Think what a day at an amusement park costs...
These machines were made to be ridden, not to be bought and sold like baseball cards..IMHO:D
