Nice find mrshimm. Tach could be a broken lead wire or such, and ditto on the carbs.

Could the tach. not working cause the engine to rev. up when I pull clutch in?
Like a censer not getting proper info. from computer. If it has a computer on it.
Ok..when I pull clutch in.engine RPM. goes up and neutral light comes on.
Anyone have these happen to them????

Thanks All.Update time.....
Put seafoam in...Also had to replace starter button.Old owner put push button on flairing.
So after getting throttle cable's off then back on.
Fired it up ran it sitting still.for about 15 min. Started running better.
Even more responsive. Idle is decent. So what did what..I don't know.
I haven't ridden it yet.Doing a major cleaning of it.

So now I had it running again and I notice cooling fan not coming on.
Temp gauge was just off the red.Never showed hot, hot,
Was steaming from radiator area. But then I did just hose it down.
Getting 30 yrs. of scum off..LOL..
Ohh yea.Coolant level fine.So whether I let it run long enough for fan to
kick on..I don't know..Steam got me worried..
Any thought's ??????

The early wings were well known for having the fan temp sensor/switch go bad. If you locate the sensor/switch, I believe it is a one wire normally open switch, that if you remove the wire and ground it, will trigger the fan. I wouldn't worry about the steam, yet.
