Here's something I found out a while back.
On an 'Everything' bagel, if you ingest the little black poppy seeds, you will test positive for drugs. I'm glad I don't eat them, but then I don't like seeds on bread.
Glad I don't get tested then , I would be off the chart

Did you know the main library at Indiana University sinks over an inch every year because when it was built, engineers faild to take into account the weight of all the books that would occupy the building?

Here's an interesting question and possibly a person who worked on the railroad can answer this or someone may know.
I live not too far from railroad tracks, naturally they blow the horn at the crossing. I have noticed different variation of the warning, is it the engineers choice, a USDOT standard, designated by the carrier?

This going back a very long time and my memory might be a little fuzzy. My Dad Al Robertson was an Engineer on the old Reading Rail Road. Worked out of East Penn junction, in Allentown ,Pa.. Think he retired in 1967. More info then you wanted, just some of my history.

Anyway back to the question, If I recall right it the crossing whistle was Two Longs, a Short and a Long.

They used have a language in whistle talk for communicating with Brakeman when making up trains in the rail yard. He in turn would respond with a lantern of flash light in it's own Language.

Yes we have whistle codes over here.

One short is hello
One long is the warning signal for track workers or an emergency.
One long, one short, one long is level crossing.
Three long one short is call for assistance.
They are are main codes.

Taxi is Universal in case you need one all over the world. Makes things easy.
The Aussie's need to get on board - What if someone can't whistle?

Then you can put out said fire with the melted ice.

Better do it before Mom gets in here. ;)

Thank you.
I was wondering because about every few hours a train passes through and I hear the signal.

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Yeah he's something & Frost is Okay but I prefer Pat!

Fire and ice
You come on like a flame
Then you turn a cold shoulder
Fire and ice
I want to give you my love
But you'll just take a little piece of my heart

You'll just tear it apart

;)

With just the right shape it can be used as a magnifying glass. Just add the sun and some dry tinder and you got smoke.;)
