Big Ken (or was it Special K?) asked me about this ride a few days ago. I've never been but I think some of us talked about it last year but the weather really sucked so we didn't follow through. Here is their web site;

It's down toward Mobile;

Four hours to there for me. Who might be up for it? We can meet up just north of there, maybe up by US 84 or at the site? Then after lunch ride some together off to the north before heading home?

I might go if weather is ok. Do we have to leave at 4am lol

I was thinking about leaving around 06:00, which would mean meeting along US 49 06:30ish. We will see how the weather is shaping up and how we want to get there.

Big Ken mentioned riding here the day before and spending the night in the Ausie suite.

Thanks Mark! I may have bit of a reputation for taking a "few extra seconds" to get ready to pull out. But in my older age, I've gotten faster and get ready quicker. I've even been known to leave prematurely, a time or two. I just have to wait a little longer sometimes to get back in the saddle. I'm sure most of y'all understand.
Always practice safe riding.

Vroom Vroom.

Not sure what direction this is going, but I am watching this thread with a non-committal eye.:suspicious:

Since our Texas hill country ride didn't happen over Thanksgiving, I've been itching to make a long ride and this may be just the ticket. It'll be just me as Carol has to work to support my hobbies. (Did I say that out loud?) .

Y'all all need to check out the web link that Mark provided. It's a simple meet and greet for a few hours. But it's symbolic and a tradition for a lot of folks. I love the fact that others are seriously contemplating this ride. Just be assured that it's ...

1. Arrive anytime before lunchtime
2. Early birds can get breakfast and/or coffee
3. Lunch at about noon
4. A few awards for fun (longest rider, oldest bike, etc.)
5. Most folks depart by 2 or so and head home.

Come one, come all. Just don't come expecting one of our typical, infamous M&Gs. That's all.

I'm about 4 hours plus away and I would love to be there by 9 for breakfast and coffee and meeting a whole new bunch of folks I will prolly not ever see again (unless I go back next year or after that.)

Hope some of y'all can make it!!

Ride safe

After talking it over with the wife. I may have a plan that I like. I'll take 2 days to get there. Leave Edinburg Texas, stop overnight in Lake Charles LA, go to the lunch meeting, leave there and come back to Biloxi MS and spend the night at the IP Casino, gamble for a while and make my way back to Edinburg the next day. Anyone want to meet along the way and join me?

Just saw an opportunity to give you a little grief. Looking forward to not waiting for you next time.

Sounds good to me. I would have to leave at 05:00 to be there by 09:00 and can do. You are welcome to spend the night before here if you want. Don't know if it buys you much time but just let me know.

It's not time I would gain, but the company of a great friend and road captain with whom to share the journey!

Sweet! I will pm you my cell phone number. Watch out on I-10 passing through Baton Rouge, traffic there can be a problem. We will merge routes around the Mobile area, but you may be behind us.

I lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for a long time if you need any tips of that area.

Sounds like a plan to me. I may even talk the little woman into riding with me.
