I am about to buy a Goldwing. The dealer has the 2010 model made in the US or the 2012 model made in Japan (both new). Does anyone know if there is any difference in quality or are they very similar. I am not sure what to do for as I have no experience on Goldwings. My present bike is a ST1300. John

IMHO:
1. Are they both being discounted at least $4K off MSRP?
2. Is there any other incentives available on either one? IE, $$$ for accessories or ??
One point, ride the NEW 2010 off the lot and you now own a 2 model year old bike. No problem if you intend to keep it. A consideration if you sell/trade every year or 2.
If you buy the 2010, it was built 3 years ago. Only concern I would have is to ask the dealer how they initialized the battery.

The wheels, navigation,cb have upgrades and the saddle bags now will hold a full face helmet. If you don't like the new style then get the outdated style. The 12 probably costs more. I personally like the new style or I wouldn't have bought one. When the 1800 came out I heard the same complaints, I like progress and will buy another new wing in a few years.

I doubt if you get a $4000 discount, if that available I would like to know where. The 20102 has a little more storage and of course a different design. If you like the looks of the 12 get it, the running gear is the same, the seat on the 2012 is better, and the CB is a lot easier to install, and if you get the navigation it will be newer. The warranty is the same, 3 years from date of purchase, So I would say buy the one you like the best, if price is a concern you can get a better deal on the 2010.

I've talked to a few 2012 owners and here's the feedback so far. 1) the stock seat is not comfortable. 2) Vibration above 128mph. Who's going to go 128mph and over?

Biggest hurdle I see is price. I have a 2010 Wing and its great. The sales promotion allowed me to get the Wing for 19K with a 1K of accessories thrown in; however, the accessories were taxed and the labor for installing the accessories was very steep, $300.00+. Don't be afraid to negotiate price, a free helmet(s), and anything else you can think of :) Good Luck on your choice!!

2012

I bought a 2012 and love it and the looks of it, I have had it 7 months and have 17,000 miles great bike. Bike for bike not much diffrence, the problem I see with buying a 2010 is it is new but it is also 2 yrs old if you know what I mean and if and when you go to sell or trade it you will take more of a loss. Just my thoughts you won't be sorry with the 12, or the 10. Ride Safe.

If the savings between the 10 and 12 are not an issue, pick the one you like the best, based on style and color. Personally I held out for the 2012 model after wrecking my 1500, and likely would have gone back to the 15 if not for the new styling changes. I have no basis to compare the 2 bikes performance wise, but I can tell you I like the styling better, including the lighting front and rear, the new saddlebags and layered look of the fairing. I had a Corbin saddle on the 15 and loved it, but find the stock seat on my 12 very comfortable. Purchased 6/11 for MSRP with $750 in accessories, as of tonight, 10,450mi. I'm liking it more and more everyday! Good luck with your decision.

No, not sure it's correct to post the name, since they are not a sponsor of this board?
Just wanted people to know there are deals going on. Some are even better than what I posted!
I've seen the base model in the area of $19,500+accessory money given.
