Hello everybody, this is my first post.
I have owned my 1978 GL1000 since I bought it new in the fall of 1977. I've put just over 500,000 kms. on it since then. The very best of times as I'm sure you know.
I got lazy and didn't remove the mounting bolts (a 1 minute job) on my Corbin saddle to allow for proper removal of my right side cover. The result was to break off 1/2 of the plastic mounting tab on the side cover.
I tried superglue with no success and I was wondering if anybody knows what type of plastic the cover's made of, and what an appropriate glue would be. The plastic material is kind of a light creamy white colour with a black coating of some sort. The side cover is, of course, black.
Half the tab's still there so it still hangs and is functional, but I'm fussy and it needs proper repair. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.................Happy riding........................Dave
