Have you checked the air filter? Possibly very dirty (or mouse nest) and blocking air intake?

 

Clogged filter would have more problems at higher speeds. Poor high speed performance and excessive fuel usage.

 

I haven't checked but I have been riding recently and never had any problems

 

Did the FI light on dash come on?

 

No lights.just a luring sound on idle.

 

Maybe put in (one oz per gallon) of Seafoam (or Techron) into the fuel tank , to help clean those fuel injectors, while your ride'n it... that may help, I always pour in the S/F [if/when] I'm going on a very long ride and I know that I'll be going through a full tank of gas that day.. keeps my bike runn'nnn smooth'ly

Yes I religiously put seafoam in all my vehicles. Thanks for the suggestion it's a good one.

 

It is possible the the crank position sensor is failing. That can cause a rough idle and no start condition.
It may just be corrosion on the sensor plugs.

Vacuum leak ?

 

Vacuum leaks tend to make for a fast idle
Or at the very least an erratic one

 

There is a small O ring that the fuel pump nipple goes through the basket that may be the problem--

 

Did ya try running any carb. & injector cleaner in it or Seafoam ?
