I always thought a goldwing was a bike with a lot of tupperware added on, so I would never be caught sitting on one.
as I had an accident with my pan, my mischievous dealer lent me a GW. guess what happened ?
I still have some questions:
the lower rear taillights don't work and when i opened the housing there where not even sockets to be found.
every button on the handlebars is lighted and together give the impression of a christmas tree. the middle part (info, dim,... and the controls for handle bar and seat heating) stay in utter darkness.

are these normal issues for bike at this price, or was mine made on a monday?
for your info, I bought the bike brand new and it is a deluxe version with airbag.

hello and welcome to goldwing owners forum het zinneke, i would take it back to the dealer. it seems to me that your bike was never prepped for delevery. i am in new car delevery where i work and the first part of the prep is for a mechanic to go over the vehicle and make everything is ok before a detailer cleans it. did i read your post right? did you say he lent you the bike while yours is being repaired?

well, maybe i was a little cryptic in my posting. i ad an accident with my pan european st1300. while being repaired my garage owner lent me a used GW as the motorcycle is my only means of transportation. i was so pleased with the GW that i bought a new one. i also have to say that i live in europe and that maybe the accessories are different. i wonder if it is not meant to be installed with fog lights?

greets

most loaner bikes are not kept up the way you would your own. the people that the bikes are lent to abuse them and the dealer/ shop has no incentive to keep a bike in tip top condition, they keep the bike running , brakes and lights working. otherwise its a work horse

I've ridden GoldWings in Europe - in Germany and the Netherlands. I intend to do it again this coming November if the weather cooperates. The last time I rented a GoldWing in Frankfurt I didn't bring my own helmet, but the dealer lend me a brand new helmet, and he also took the tags of a new pair of gloves and lent them to me. What a wonderful trust.
Fog lights are no problem if they are wired through a relay.
I don't understand why you don't involve your dealer on these new bike problems? The story doesn't sound complete to me. Regards.
