Hi my rear tire is making a howling noise . I have a 95 GL 1500 . The tire looks like it is wearing in the middle but lots of tread on the sides . Tires are dunlop E3;s . Bike handles fine . I probably have 8 or 9 k on tires . Should I replace ? Thanks Rick H

It seems the more miles you put on m/c tires the louder they get. Put a new set on and you will think something is wrong because you don't hear any noise. 9K on bias tires is not a lot. I usually got 14-16k out of a set of OEM Dunlops on my 98 GL1500. I did a mix of super slab and back road driving. Best thing to do is check the wear indicators on the tires and see when they stand. You can decide from there..

Also, make sure they are properly inflated...

Is the howling much louder in curves? The E3 tires are noisy as they wear, more so in corners.
