How many miles has your wing covered?
What is the highest miles on a wing that you have owned?
Have you ever worn a wing motor out. (needing rings or pistons)?
My 1984 has covered 95,000 miles.

38,000 miles. Average 10,000 a season. When I look at it that way, I have crossed the continent from Atlantic City, NJ to San Diego, CA at least three times. Yet, I have not been farther south than NC, north of PA, west of WV and east of VA. I'm going in circles.

My 77 I picked up at 49K sold it with 98K still in top shape, my first 85 had 29K and it was totaled with 46K not in good shape, my second 85 had 2K and still in great shape at 165K when I sold it. My 86 was at 62K when I picked it up and after a rear end fix and a 8K trip out west I sold it with 82K a year later, now my 06 had 32K three years ago when I got it and is now at 62500 and nothing but oil and tires, I hope to get around 200K before I'm 60.:party0003:

My current 1500 has just over 44K miles. The one I sold had 192K miles and the engine was still tight.

Considering the three GW'S I've owned since 1996, including the 2010, I have a total of 190,000, the most on my 1997, 1500 I bought new and sold with 157,000 in NoV, 2010, and the wife and I have enjoyed every mile. Look forward to a lot more.

My bike could still be considered low mileage at 95000 miles for a 1984. But it is still 29 years old and in top condition. Today I had a 84 year old gentleman stop to talk to me about my bike. He thought it was fairly new and was shocked when I told him it was a 1984. I brought it with 75,000 miles on it 2 years ago.

I don't think the engines wear out. They more become victims of a timing belt failure or being driven with low oil or being overheated when a hose or thermostat fails. In other words they are killed in most cases by their owners. I saw a 1500 killed by a timing belt breaking at 375000 miles. The cylinders still had the visible factory hone pattern. Be very afraid of old timing belts!!!!

Wait, what else do you do in life?:happay:
While it didn't start out this way, I now have a 125 mile round trip commute four days of the week. Add that when the weather is nice that my wife enjoys riding and I am easily found with my butt in the saddle 5 to 6 days of the week. Sucks to be me... :happay:

Until I came onto this forum I had never see or heard of a wing going on a trailer anywhere. The best touring bike cheating by taking a lift on a trailer? The only time my bike is going on a trailer is when the go stops going. I do see why people do it but it is not for me.

Very simple explenation Eric.

1) It would take my son 3-4 days on Yamaha 650
2) Can anyone transport a cat and a dog on a Goldwing for 1000Miles?
My wife will fly here and we need other transportation then bike for rainy days.
Besides I'm a wuss and I will never ride more then 4-5 hrs per day.
