How long should the bike idle high to warm up?

Not sure if I was not paying attention before, but it seems to idle high on first start in cold weather. Even after a quick blip it does not idle down.

'08 1800 GW

Mine idles high at around 1200 RPMs for several minutes and then starts coming down.

Sounds like it’s working correctly. Up here, in the cold, it will high idle for quite a while.
