Im contemplating one of these .. but... a clean shiney bike is a happy bike ... how is the cleaning effort with this rack on ?

I feel spoiled now. Cleaning this thing is real easy compared to my last two black bikes .. little soap and water, hose her down .. wipe it down .. honda spray stuff ....done !

It might add 30 seconds to a minute to washing time. Be careful mounting it on the 1800. As I've heard the 1800 trunk in two piece, and you can crack the trunk when you tighten the bolts. Maybe one of the 1800 riders can help you.

Also beware that you don't get the rack(s) that will interfere with a spoiler if you want to put one on. The Honda rack won't fit with one and maybe some others won't either, the Kuryakin one does. And yes, the stand-off feet are a good idea!:D

No big deal just more to clean around. Sort of like when your wife decides to add another pedistal tables to put a plant on.

I have that rack combo without any risers ( so far ). It's tight at the apex between your passenger's seat. You won't get a hand in there so you'll just have to finger it.
