bought one for the ride i had heard so much about. i have an 81 standard with bad supension seals and it's the smoothest ride yet and i'm 55 been rideing since 10. rebuild kits around 40 for the front. was told to toss the rear ones. thinking at this point i can't bugger them up i bought a can of GUNK brand fix-a-flat and resealed the rear shocks! holding preasure for two days. used to leak down in ten minutes. thought yall might like to know.

Welcome to the GWOF, surefoot! Pretty clever! Hope it holds until you feel like replacing them.

The front forks are pretty simple and can really make a nice difference in riding/handling. When I drained the fork oil from the '85 1200 it was pitch black, like graphite oil.:eek: Much better now! Just don't let the innards fly all over your shop when you unscrew the caps! It's kinda like opening a champagne bottle and holding the cork!:D

Hello and welcome, I never would have considered fix a flat for air shocks.very resourceful.
