Welcome jdgw. We're of a similar recent past, I got off my ST1300 and back onto a Wing after a 15 year hiatus. Kind of like rekindling an acquaintance with an old friend for me.

Welcome & greetings from Florida.
I own a 1993 GL-1500A with Voyager kit and I can tell you it's a very dependable bike.
Ask us a lot of questions and we'll try to answer them.

Hi jdgw_wannabe,
Welcome to the forum. Lots of nice folks here willing to answer any GW questions you may have. Do you know yet which model you are interested in (GL1200, GL1500, GL1800)? Their are a lot of nice used bikes available now and it's definitely a "buyer's market". I ride an '05 GL1800 and my wife rides an '87 GL1200. She had an '86, but a couple of months ago we found an absolutely beautiful '87 over in Easton, PA. It is gorgeous and it was fully loaded with only 28,000 original miles. It even came with a color matched cargo trailer. So if you are willing to take your time, good deals abound on all models of GWs.

I'm just across the river from you in beautiful Hunterdon County, NJ. If you ever need anything, give me a shout!

Cheers!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone !

I did some search/reading about GW, here's what i like so far:
- Reliability/Dependability
- Elec cruise/Stereo
- Great 2up/Luggage capacity
- Large 6.6gal gas tank
- Burns regular gas
- Low maint, valve check/adj interval
- Uses Rotella Diesel oil + Wally SuperTech 7317 filter(same as my FJR setup)
- Lots of aftermarket stuff
Do you think a 2010 Aud/Comf Wing $18,500 OTD is good deal?

Here's what i'm afraid of:
- I have a short inseam, dropping a 900Lbs Goldwing. I dropped all my bikes; my previous Harley Superglide, BMW R1100 & yes
my current bikes; SV650 beater & my FJR1300(my testicles hurt picking this bike up).
- GW Rear Tire change , how do you do it?

Have a Happy Thanksgiving !

You certainly can't go wrong with the wing. However, the FJR1300 "AIN'T" no slouch by any means.
