Well after wishing and dreaming for nearly 10 years I finally pulled the trigger and bought a 2007 GL1800. I love it! I'm currently on active duty stationed at Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC.

A Wing always looks good in uniform. Semper Fi MSG. You're a credit to the Goldwing you sit upon and to the country's roads you ride it on. Come on up to Washington D.C. soon and I'll provide you escort.

Hello Chris. Chopin114 does a good job providing escort. I left God's country here in North GA to see the sites up there and Chopin was a good escort.

Welcome to the forum from Pennsylvania and congrats on your new Wing. I did my basic training at Ft Jackson back in the 60's. Had a laundry truck roll down the hill due to emergency brake failure. The truck was older than me at the time.

Wow, thanks to all of you for the warm welcome. Between this site and YouTube I have learned more about my GW than I ever dreamed I would. I bought my bike from a back country Honda dealer and let’s just say it was as close to as is as could be. I decided to not do the air filter as my first job so that is the only thing I let the dealer do. And a good thing I did it was way overdue for a change. I have changed the oil, final drive oil, fixed a sticking windscreen, trunk light while putting a dirty then clean rag on virtually every inch of my new baby. I love it!

A bit of Brasso and a can of lube works wonders. Don't feel emasculated because you didn't do the air filter change. I did my first one with another rider so we could keep check on one another, still ended up with an unplugged plug that turned out to be a plug for an option that I didn't have. The next change is on you.
