Hi all. Been a GW owner for almost 2 years. I have a 2008 comfort Navi. Really loving the bike and have been researching the Darkside forums as it needs some tires. Pulled the plug and ordered a car tire today!

look forward to learning more and having somewhere to go with questions.

Go Blackhawks, Bears, and White Sox!

Welcome in Steve. Sorry to read in the other posting about your shop being biased against darksiding. Oh well, your money can go elsewhere. 👍👍

Welcome to you from Mississippi. While I don't ride darkside, I know many people who do. Some of them I did my best to keep up in the twisties. Enjoy the ride.

Ollie,

Thanks for the warm welcome, much appreciated.

the thing with that shop is that they have a great reputation and will work on pretty much anything the bike needs. That’s why I wanted to know if they’d still work on it if it went to the dark side, which they will. Hopefully, being a Honda, I won’t need them much!

As long as I’m happy with how the bike performs and rides, I don’t care if they want to tell me it rides badly. And if I’m not happy with how the dark side feels, I can always go back, right? It’s not like I’m painting flames on the GW!

What other forums do you like? Where’s another place to explore after I get these tires handed?

Thanks again!

Welcome aboard from Utah! I'm also a darksider and I will never go back. Most places around here wont do a CT on a bike either so I do my own tire work. Just be aware on uneven ground the CT can cause a drop if you're not ready for it. It's a very slight learning curve and after a few turns you'll never know its on there.

Welcome from sunny So Arizona! Hope it warms enough for you to take some good rides soon.
I had trouble finding a shop that would do tires on my GW a couple of years back, so learned to do it myself. Haven't tried to DS it yet, my brother wasn't pleased when his 1800 had CT, but will consider it next time around.

thanks JKWinger! Appreciate the support and advice. I have a buddy with a Valkrie interstate who’s on his 3rd CT. Clearly it works!

You will not be disappointed in the Toyo you said you ordered, that is my current ct, it seems to really like 32psi, at least for my riding style

Thanks for that tip, dsurley, I’ll start at that pressure and see how it feels. Your satisfaction with that tire was one reason I went with it.
