I am going to purchase a goldwing, i found a few i like that are reasonably priced...my question is,the chrome is peeling off the heads on this 2002 i am looking at.....is it just old or does this mean it was overheated alot??
thanks in advance for any advice. 2002 gl1800 orange in color 85k miles

I work second shift so i pretty much have the days to myself.....maybe we could meet in the middle sometime.. cheers...

The peeling head covers are minor. If it really bothers you, you can remove them and use an aircraft paint stipper to remove the old clearcoat. Some 0000 steel wool to polish them and then spray with high temp clearcoat. The only cost would be new cover gaskets and the paint materials. I did this on my 1985. Actually looked better than when it was new.
Since you live in Vermont, you have a long winter to do the work.

As Cantankerous said, have the dealer run the VIN to make sure recalls were done.
If the dealer is willing, have them change all the fluids. Brake, clutch, coolant and final drive oil,
