my goldwing engine temp gets up to 3/4 on the scale when idling for 15-20 minutes. the fan comes on cycles and turns off.it doesnt get over half way on the scale when its moving.also does not seem to over heat but i dont remember the temp getting that high.i just had the fan switch replaced and the coolant level looks good

If it idles for that long I would say it's normal. As long as it doesn't over heat when you are riding it I wouldn't worry about it. At idle the battery is NOT being charged, I wouldn't let it idle to long.

Those temp readings sound about right to me. My 98 GL1500 temps ran right around where yours are and I never had a problem. If the fan is kicking on and cooling it down I don't think you have anything to worry about. Ride safe..

My 94SE will do what you describe if i'm stuck in traffic.otherwise temp.is like yours also.Mine has 118k on it,so i guess it's normal. Cars do the same if the A/C is left off and are idled for long periods.(ones with electric fans that is)
