Many posts here inviting encouragement to buy a Gold Wing. Saw my first two in 1975 on Interstate 70. Man and woman, each with bare wing with only a bag tied on the back, on the way back from Chicago to LA, and loving them. Never heard a bad word about them. Never rode one. Have had 3 Silver Wings in the last few years, commute with them sometimes, no long distance work. Not dissatisfied, but curious and intrigued with the Gold Wing, the Real Deal. With that as a benchmark, will I find the Gold Wing a cumbersome monstrosity to handle at low speed and parking? I'm big enough, but still the Gold Wing seems awfully broad to straddle.

my ride to work is only four miles one of the shortest here i'm sure but i do it on one of my wings. i hear that the old silverwings are fine bikes but goldwings add the luxury to it at least on a dressed wing. if you take a passenger there is more room and more power from the bigger motor. i don't think youwould be disappointed with a goldwing but get something you'll be happy with after all "YOU" have to ride it and you cannot compaire gold to silver
