I have noticed a slight surge at idle on my 1993 Aspencade. Sometimes 800-1000 rpms. I had to replace the alternator a couple of weeks ago and noticed a black rubber line coming from the top of the gas cap, down towards the area of the alternator. The line is encased in red clothe, comes down just past the frame to a tee fitting. The 90 degree of the tee is open, nothing attached. The straight section has a small 4 inch piece of black rubber hose, also attached to nothing. There is no clamp on the end and Ive done everything I can including laying the bike on the side but can not find an open connections that they came from. I cant see any reason to have that tee connection on it other than it being hooked up to something. Can anyone tell me were these two open ends of the tee connection go to.

Not sure, but my guess is they're probably just vent hoses. I'm sure some GL1500 owners will chime in shortly with your answer.
