please help, the summer is underway but my wing is not.
please read earlier thread.
the only thing i can add to that is that when i last tried to use the bike the spedo did not work and i had warmed it up in the garage for around 5 mins but i only got about a mile before it stopped at the traffic lights, new battery and new alternater both genuine honda parts the bike is left on trickle charge all the time and the battery was fully charged as the headlights were very bright when i started it up but when it stopped there were no lights and nothing on the button, when this happened the first time we fitted a booster pack to the battery to get it home ,this time we tried that and it wouldnt start so it was a trailer job.
I WOULD BE SO GRATEFULL OF ANY HELP,PLEASE ASK AROUND YOUR FELLOW BIKERS TO SEE IF THEY MAY OFFER ANY HELP I AM RELUCTANT TO TAKE IT INTO A DEALER BECAUSE ALL THEY DO IS FIT PART AFTER PART UNTIL THEY FIND THE PROBLEM BY THEN THE EXPENSE IS FRIGHTENING.

KINDEST REGARDS DAVE

did the main fuse blow
hi thanks for your kind reply, firstly this is the first bike ive had in 30 years my last bike was a honda 50 quite a leap.
ive had the wing for 3 months when i took it for test the guy said that the main fuse ,is that the one to the right of the battery 55a strip type metal fuse? ive looked in the book and i have ordered this fuse from the dealer because someone has wired this fuse out with a good thick wire.
i really dont know much about bikes i had it delivered by van courier and its kept in my daughters garage 100 miles from where i live.
any help would be much apreciated

the strip fuse is the one you are looking for, get a couple while you are at it so you have a spare

hi
many thanks for your kind reply
the only thing that concerns me is that the previous owner had hard wired this fuse out with wire thats impossible to blow.
ive now recieved two fuses from my honda dealer are you saying that i should remove the hard wire and replace it with a fuse i am concerned that the hard wiring of what should have been the main fuse may have damaged something.
it may be a week before i go to my daughters but in the meantime i will post the fuses to my brother so he can try what you say.i dare say we will be in touch again.
many thanks for taking the time to help me.

sincere thanks dave

hi dave d; if raw voltage flowed through a missing main fuse the next stop would be a possibly melted ign switch which would shut down the complete m/c. or the engine kill switch which would shut off the engine but leave your lights on. good luck.

if the problem is the fuse holder like ronzilla's friend had then get a water proof blade fuse holder from the auto parts store and the fuses while you are there
