I had my 85 gl 1200 in storage for the winter and couldn't get it to run right unless I had the choke partially on. I first removed the carbs, removed the bowls and cleaned the jets. Next I removed the carbs, disassembled the carbs, soaked them for a day each in carb cleaner. It runs better but still stumbles at idle and will pop through the intake and doesn't seem to run like it should even at higher rpm's unless I open the choke/enrichener slightly. I've been talking around about this problem and some say there is a fuel/air mixture jet under a welch plug somewhere on the carbs. Does anyone have experience with this that can help me? I've also drained the gas, added sea foam and fuel injector cleaner trying to resolve this problem with no success. If these carbs do in fact have such a jet, I'm looking for the location of them on the carb.

Thanks

They are on the back side of the carburetors right above the float bowl.
