I am getting a 1981 with 33k on it. The guy Im getting it from his uncle left it to him 3 years ago. He has only put maybe 3000 miles on it in 3 years

He has no clue if belts have been changed

i just wonde if I should drive it or not...it will be about 2 weeks till i have the money to put belts on

i dont if i can look at it for 2 weeks and not ride it

you can get belts from nappa auto parts for around $25 each, belt #250274

Yea. I would change them as well as all fuel lines. That was a good year.

Change the belts. They are rubber and have a finite lifespan, even if they look good they can let go. If you don't, you can totally lunch your valve train; certainly not worth holding out on $50 and a couple hours wrenching.

Absolutely change them belts. $50.00 Is small change compaired to junk heads and possible piston damage. It is a couple hour job and well worth it. Look at the tennsioner pulleys for smootheness and quiet operation then too.
