It’s special enough by being the only time World Superbike comes to the USA, but being at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on the Monterey Peninsula makes it even more special. Sometimes it’s hot and sunny, sometimes it’s cool and foggy, and sometimes those two change places every half hour. In short it’s a magical place to watch motorcycles race, and when that’s done for the day it’s an even better place to hang out and bike- and people-watch down on Cannery Row. Set aside a few hours for the amazing Monterey Bay Aquarium, followed by a nice piece of fish on Fisherman’s Wharf. Maybe you’ll see the MOrons, even? We wouldn’t miss it.

After round Six, Alvaro Bautista and his new Ducati Panigale V4 are leading the Kawasaki ZX-10RR of Jonathan Rea, 300 points to 259, but there’s Rimini and Silverstone to go before they get to Laguna Seca in mid-July. We hope anything can happen.

Perhaps it's time to change this banner to something more current.

Agree Charlie.

I don't get coverage of WSBK, AMA, or MotoGP up here. But I do get recorded versions of Moto America Superbike on Fox S. Kind of got interested in it down at COTA. Now having seen the likes of Elias, Beaubier, Herrin and crew in person (sure live is way better) seeing the battles and slow mo footage gives me way more appreciation for these second tier riders. And believe me there's very little second rate about most of them. Seeing the layout of the entire COTA track on camera, made me realize that no matter if it's live, you just can't see the whole race. Laguna is still a wicked course, but Sonoma, Utah (some of my EMRA and Hx pals ride the Utah races in our "off season") and a couple of the others are really challenging too. What wouldn't I give to take my SP for a spin around any of those tracks... oh well:crying:

I think it's good that they advertise these events. I'm sure there are folks on the forum, like yourself, who enjoy these events. I just think since the time for the event is past we should have something more current to present to our members on the opening page. Outdated material makes it look like a forum that is not well maintained.

I hope whatever they put as a banner page is current..
