I have a '94 Wing. When the engine is running, I smell gas, sometimes strongly. I have checked the diaphragm and checked for a noticeable fuel leak with no results. It runs great and starts easily once she is warmed up.

I have seen some leaks around the input and output fittings on the fuel filter. however that was usualy just after a filter change. It is caused by a little ridge on the filter connectors. Can be fixed by sanding them off. Might give the filter a look.

gas smell

Daveet
i do not know much about a 94 wing--if it was one of my bikes i would be checking the oil , perhaps pulling the plugs I would want to be sure it wasn't flooding into the oil or down the exhaust pipes

Gas Smell

Did you check the gas cap? It should be installed with the arrow pointing at about 7 O'clock and turned to 12 O'clock which is facing the windsheild.
